Santana was born in Valencia, Spain in 1965.
From a very early age, Francisco Santana felt attracted to the art of painting, and he first studied the skills in the Superior Fine Arts School in Valencia.
His villages and boats achieved in each of his works are perfectly harmonized and full of life, through his loose painterly style.
Santana may create beautiful paintings of primarily moored boats in low tide or beaches, but his approach to light and water are just as much of a focal point. By manipulating colours and using dynamic brushstrokes, Santana creates not only a tranquil work but a bright and vibrant world.
